Mato Kuroi

Mato Kuroi is a main character in both Black★Rock Shooter (OVA) and Black Rock Shooter. She reaches out to Yomi Takanashi on their first day and the two become best friends.

In the OVA, Mato is a first-year middle school student who is outgoing and excitable but awkward around strangers, with a sensitive, meek side beneath that energy. In the anime version, she is fond of philosophical musings, is said to favor curry, and repeatedly reads the book Li'l Bird Li'l Bird Colorful Colors.
