Masamune Date is a mysterious warrior who crosses paths with Hideyoshi and the others several times. She once provides Mitsuhide with information about the Crimson Armor and closely resembles Hideyoshi's homeroom teacher, Date-sensei.
Story spoilers
Masamune is actually Date-sensei, a descendant of the One-Eyed Dragon Masamune Date. Seeking to restore her family's honor, she plans to take the Crimson Armor and unite Japan under the Date name. A device from a future Date clan member sends her into an alternate Japan, and her attempt at time travel is also responsible for Hideyoshi being transported there.
