Maria Ushiromiya
右代宮真里亞Biography
Maria Ushiromiya is Rosa's nine-year-old daughter and the youngest of the cousins. Stubborn, imaginative and deeply interested in the occult, she carries charms and other occult objects, idolizes witches and becomes upset when others deny their existence. Her repeated “uu-uu” vocalization particularly frustrates Rosa.

Maria is bullied at school and copes by imagining herself as a sacrificial figure protecting the other students. Her vivid imagination also gives life, in her mind, to stuffed companions such as Sakutaro, a lion made by Rosa; Rosa later destroys him. Maria remains intensely trusting of her mother despite repeated disappointments and absences.
Maria also maintains a personal grimoire and views simple wishes as spells. Within the story's contested treatment of magic, she belongs to Mariage Sorcière with Beatrice and is described as a potential Creator after giving Sakutaro a soul, a status associated with immense creative power. She later serves as Ange's witch teacher.
