Makkuro-Kurosuke

Makkuro-Kurosuke, also called Susuwatari, Dust Bunnies, or Soot Sprites, are tiny black, fuzzy-looking creatures with round bodies and inquisitive eyes. They hover through the air, can extend thin arms and legs for work, and can lift objects far heavier than themselves. In My Neighbor Totoro they inhabit an abandoned house, while in Spirited Away they work in Kamaji's boiler room and carry coal.
