Mai is the tomboyish fourteen-year-old middle sister, recognizable by pink hair and sporty clothing. Frequent moves weigh heavily on her, leaving her afraid that making friends only means abandoning them later.
Story spoilers
She eventually forms a meaningful friendship with her classmate Konami. Konami dies two years before the mansion returns to a place where they could have met again. Mai later meets Konami's daughter, also named Mai, and the encounter reawakens her guilt over having given up on their friendship. She also eventually discovers that she cannot age when the mansion disappears into the future without her and Mea.
