Madara

Madara is a powerful feline spirit accidentally released by Natsume from a shrine. After spending so long sealed in material form, he usually appears as a maneki-neko, prompting Natsume to nickname him Nyanko-sensei. Madara protects Natsume and sometimes teaches him spells in exchange for eventual possession of the Book of Friends. Despite insisting that he is not a cat, he enjoys cat toys.
