Story spoilers
Lucia is a member of Guardian whose abilities come from genetic engineering intended to prepare humans for a future Earth filled with fatal miasma. Her body produces poisonous miasma and pus, requiring special medication, and also generates vibrations she can direct at objects without touching them. Because those vibrations can disrupt machinery and firearms, she uses a katana in battle, where the vibration makes its blade function like a chainsaw.
