Liang Qi

Liang Qi is one of Alphard's senior lieutenants and affectionately treats her as an older sister. Her calm appearance hides an unwavering and merciless personality and an obsessive love for Alphard that is not returned. Jealous of Alphard's apparent interest in Canaan, Liang sees killing Canaan as a way to regain Alphard's attention.
Story spoilers
After being left to her own devices, Liang's condition deteriorates further. At the Factory, she takes an untested drug intended to induce synesthesia in another attempt to attract Alphard's notice. The drug causes severe pain and alters her appearance until she resembles Canaan. Cummings, who loves Liang, ultimately shoots her to end her suffering, and she dies in his arms while mistaking her own reflection for Canaan.
