Character profile
Lau
劉Biography
Lau is introduced as the manager of a Chinese trading company's English operations and an acquaintance of Ciel and Madam Red. Cheerful and difficult to read, he almost always wears an amused smile, enjoys dropping into Ciel's life at odd moments, and has a talent for acting as though he knows more than he really does.
Story spoilers
Lau's real business is opium, and he operates an apparently prosperous opium den despite knowing that Ciel has authority over such illegal enterprises. He is also far more capable than he lets on, at one point incapacitating mansion guards before anyone else notices.
