Kyouji Kooriyama

Kyouji Kooriyama is Ryōko's partner, acting as her driver and bodyguard while she investigates quantum phenomena. He understands little of her technical work and often asks for simplified explanations, but stays reliably at her side.
Story spoilers
Near the end, Kooriyama survives being shot during converging timespaces, explaining that apparently another version of him was not hit; he remains unharmed once the timelines separate.
