Story spoilers
She is initially presented as devastated by the sudden death of her boyfriend in an airplane accident. It is later revealed that Kurumi was actually the one who died in the crash, while Hal coped by convincing himself that he was a robot. Q01 is assigned to take Kurumi's form in an effort to help him move forward.
