Story spoilers
The Kurau known to the world was created when her younger self fused with an energy being called a Rynax. Their personalities merged into a single composite being with two pasts, leaving Kurau isolated from ordinary human relationships while she longs to reunite with the Rynax "Pair" whose essence sleeps within her.
