Character profile
Kujaku
孔雀Biography
Kujaku is a mysterious traveler who drifts in and out of Yasha and Ashura's journey, usually offering information, magical help, or simple companionship. His abilities range from destructive magic to prophecy, but his motives remain difficult to read and many of the Six Stars distrust him. Ashura, however, is fond of Kujaku, and that affection is genuinely mutual.
Story spoilers
Kujaku is revealed to be the son of the former emperor and the emperor's younger sister, Sonsei-ō, suggesting that he and Kisshouten are half-siblings. His third eye and black wings mark the circumstances of his birth. He also secretly tries to alter fate by forging Yama-tō, a sword linked to Shura-tō that gives a measure of control over Ashura. In the manga's final pages, Kujaku sacrifices himself to free Ashura from sleep and dies.
