能美クドリャフカ

Kud / Kunya / Kudryavka Anatolyevna Strugatskaya (Кудрявка Анатольевна Стругацкая)

Biography

Kudryavka Noumi, usually called Kud, is Riki's classmate and a member of the home economics club. She is one-quarter Japanese and three-quarters Russian, with much of her knowledge of Japanese culture and language coming from her grandfather. Having spent much of her childhood traveling, she finds Japan cold compared with her warmer home country and often wears a handmade hat and cloak. She keeps a Siberian Husky named Strelka and her favorite phrase is "wafū!"

Story spoilers

In the real world, Kud chooses not to return to her home country. The image of her mother being captured and tortured is not presented as an actual event, but as something Kud imagines to punish herself for not being there.
