Kodama

Kodama are small white tree spirits with large rattling heads and mask-like faces, and their presence is considered a sign of a healthy forest. They appear to protect the forest, are said to bring good luck, and help guide Ashitaka and two wounded Irontown workers out of the Forest Spirit's woods.
