Biography
Klein Sandman is the billionaire commander of Earthgertz, using his scientific expertise to create the Gran Divas and Gran Kaiser for the fight against the Zeravire. He selects pilots with the inherited gravity tolerance he calls the G-Factor and authorizes the machines to combine into Gravion when necessary.
Story spoilers
Sandman is actually Zieg Zeravire, a scientist from the ecologically devastated planet Llambias and husband of Lufira Zeravire. He created the Gran Sigma to restore his world, but a conflict with his brother-in-law Hugi led to the Genocidron System devastating both Llambias and Selias. After fleeing to Earth, Zieg assumed the identity and appearance of the historical Klein Sandman. He genetically enhanced his own G-Factor, and that enhancement gave him immortality while preserving his youthful appearance. He later learns that Leele Zeravire is his daughter and, in Gravion Zwei, pilots the Gran Sigma himself.
