Kintoki Sakata is a machine made by Gengai, originally intended as Gintoki's perfect substitute while he was away.

He brainwashes the town except for Tama and Sadaharu, replacing their memories of Gintoki with himself and even inserting himself into the series' manga volumes and DVDs.
