Story spoilers
Keigo initially approaches the survival game with a calm focus on stopping the murders rather than winning. He tries to recruit other diary holders, including First and Second, before information about his son’s impending death pushes him to become more active in the game. Deus chose him in part to counterbalance the game’s criminals and maniacs.
