Kazuto Kirigaya

Kazuto Kirigaya, known in Sword Art Online as Kirito, is a solo player who usually operates without a guild and was among the relatively few people admitted to the game's beta test. His alias combines syllables from his family and given names. When Kayaba announces the death game, Kirito adapts quickly but declines an invitation to stay with Klein's friends because he does not believe he can bear responsibility for protecting them.
