Kazuma Ikeda is the son of the woman dating Tsubasa's father and plays in the indie-rock band Yin & Yang. Tsubasa initially mistrusts him because of his bleached hair and skull jewelry, while Kazuma welcomes the prospect of their parents marrying because he wants his mother to be happy and likes the idea of having a younger sister.
Story spoilers
Kazuma gradually realizes that his love for Tsubasa goes beyond brotherly affection. He also comes to understand that his commitment to music may eventually pull him away from her.
