Kano Kirishima

Kano Kirishima lives with her older sister Hijiri at the local clinic. Outgoing and fond of the stray dog Potato, she believes in magic and wears a yellow scarf around her wrist, convinced she will be able to use magic as an adult if she never takes it off. She dreams of flying to meet her mother, whom she believes is watching over them.
Story spoilers
After learning that her mother died giving birth, Kano's later crisis reveals that Hijiri created the scarf story after a traumatic episode in Kano's childhood, hoping the belief in magic would help her. At the shrine, a glowing feather leads Kano through a vision of her mother; afterward she says she is all right and lets the scarf blow away.
