Kanna Togakushi is Kisaragi's childhood friend and, like her, a gifted scientist whose inventions have a habit of going wrong. The two once dreamed of conquering the world together as children.
Story spoilers
After Kisaragi abandons that dream to become Chitose's mother, Kanna tricks Chitose and his family into coming to her secret island so she can persuade Kisaragi to rejoin her. Kanna instead falls in love with Chitose and begins trying to "capture" him through both conversation and technology.
