Kanata Saionji
西遠寺彷徨Biography
Kanata Saionji is a 14-year-old who manages the Saionji temple while his father is in India. He lives with Miyu before Ruu and Wannya arrive and acts as Ruu's Earth father during their stay. Outwardly cool, athletic, and talented, he is much lazier and less polished at home; beneath his quiet manner he is caring and easygoing, and he has an enduring love of pumpkin.

Ruu calls Kanata “Papa” because he resembles Ruu's real father. Kanata gradually falls in love with Miyu and eventually confesses in the manga after Ruu and Wannya leave. Years later, he succeeds his father as the temple's resident priest, marries Miyu, and they have a daughter named Miu.
