Biography
Kanae Kotonami initially comes across as Kyoko's rival, but she is kinder and more vulnerable than her strong exterior suggests. She badly wants to become a star and attends the same audition as Kyoko, where both ultimately fail. Kanae is highly self-conscious and prone to self-doubt despite her confident front.
Story spoilers
Kanae becomes the second member of Love Me and gradually forms a genuine friendship with Kyoko. It is later revealed that she struggles with children because she comes from an unusually large family with many siblings, nieces, and nephews.
