Biography
K is a monk who lives independently while pursuing spiritual advancement. Sent to college to study medicine, he instead spends the money on religious studies, angering his parents and resolving afterward not to depend on anyone. He eventually accepts an invitation to live with his friend Sensei.
Story spoilers
K falls in love with Ojou-san, the daughter of the woman housing him and Sensei. After learning that Sensei and Ojou-san are engaged, K dies by suicide.
