Story spoilers
Ragna is actually Jin's biological brother. In one alternate time loop, Jin follows Ragna into the Cauldron, is thrown into the past, and eventually becomes the Six Hero Hakumen. Later events also see Jin resist Yukianesa's influence more effectively, sever ties with the Kisaragi family, and train under Jubei.
