Hyousuke Magumo is a brash, hyperactive student who hopes to attend Tokyo University and become a professional statesman like his brother. He initially comes across as a shallow attention-seeker and is often the most energetic member of Kei's group.

After becoming romantically involved with Kaede, Hyousuke reveals a much more sensitive and reflective private side; Kaede describes him as a gentleman and sweet.
