Character profile
Hidetada Tokugawa
徳川秀忠Benitora
Biography
Known initially as Benitora, he is a comic-relief fighter who joins Kyoshiro and Kyo's group and wields the Hokuraku Shimon, a Demon Spear forged by Muramasa. He is protective of Yuya and affects a noticeable Kansai accent around her.
Story spoilers
Benitora's true identity is Tokugawa Hidetada, heir to the Shogunate and son of Tokugawa Ieyasu, who originally orders him to spy on Kyo. He later plays major roles in battles against the Mibu forces and, in the bonus chapter, continues studying to lead Japan in the future. The manga also implies that his deeper romantic feelings are for Mahiro rather than Yuya.
