Heine Rammsteiner is an albino gunman who was subjected to genetic manipulation and implants as a child. A device called a spine is fused into the back of his neck, and the Kerberos experiments give him extraordinarily rapid recovery from injury. Emotionally distant and lethal, he was raised in an underground facility intended to produce the ultimate human weapon.
Story spoilers
Heine eventually kills everyone involved with the Kerberos project, including his younger "sister" Lily, leaving him with an intense fear of women. He later develops a bond with Nill after learning that she is also a genetic experiment and discovering that he can tolerate physical contact with her.
