Story spoilers
At seven, Hayato witnesses Egrigori destroy his village, sees Keith kill his father, and loses his own left arm before it is replaced by ARMS. He lives for revenge until meeting Ryo and the other ARMS subjects helps him gain self-control and compassion, eventually choosing to protect rather than destroy. White Knight later gains an armored ultimate form whose Lance of Mistilteinn can disable the regenerative properties of other ARMS.
