Story spoilers
The names Hänsel and Gretel are identities alternated between the two twins rather than fixed to one child. After Hänsel is shot and left to die, Gretel escapes aboard the Black Lagoon and begins softening in response to Rock's kindness, only to be killed by a hitman hired by Hotel Moscow.
