Story spoilers
His childhood tragedies include losing his mother and being “estranged as a stepson.” Whether because of ambition or a wish to keep his family from possible harm, Geese was apparently distant from them. He ignored Rock's pleas to help Marie during her sickness until she reportedly passed away, which led to Rock's indignation and determination to stay away from Geese's shadow.
