Gau Ban

Gau is the sole survivor of a village destroyed by bandits, though the details of the attack differ between the anime and OAV. He later takes the name “Black Howling” after receiving Diaz Ragu's Black Wing boomerang. He masters the Shadow Gate Genesis technique Cannon while overcoming Darkness, but Diaz dies soon afterward, sending Gau into deep grief. Much later in the manga, it is revealed that Scarface is Gau's biological older brother and that their father is Shere Kahn; the people Gau believed were his parents had only been entrusted with raising him.
