Four Murasame is an artificial Newtype created through the Federation's Murasame Research Lab. Her memories of her earlier life were erased, leaving her with only the designation "Four," while she was trained as a living weapon and led to believe cooperation with the Titans could restore what she had lost.
Story spoilers
In New Hong Kong, Four meets AEUG pilot Kamille Bidan without realizing he is an enemy. She feels an immediate bond with him because he treats her as a person rather than merely as a weapon without a past.
