In the anime, Bass tries to consume Gospel's data and is consumed instead. After MegaMan destroys Gospel, Bass takes residence in Shuryou Gospel's android body, later creates Allegro, attempts to absorb MegaMan and ProtoMan's Ultimate Programs, and is defeated by Slur and imprisoned in the UnderNet. In RockMan.EXE: Program of Light and Dark, Dr. Regal captures and brainwashes Bass; after returning to normal, Bass sides with MegaMan, absorbs MegaMan's Ultimate Program to form BassCross, is pulled into a black hole and ultimately absorbs Nebula Grey's power. Bass later deletes Slur, vanishes, and the anime leaves Bass's whereabouts unknown. In the manga, Bass first appears in Volume 3 while MegaMan and ProtoMan investigate the UnderNet, repeatedly comes into conflict with them, and is portrayed as having a deeper rivalry and friendship with MegaMan than in the anime and game.
