Story spoilers
Elena was originally Ellen Brooks, a girl from 1981 whom Eureka saved during a Scrub burst near the Caribbean Sea. The event sent her to 2020, where she ended up at an American research facility involved in making IFO pilots. Before joining Generation Bleu, Ellen adopted the name "Elena Peoples" from a girl who had died five years before the beginning of the series, and she later seeks to return to Eureka's timeline.
