Story spoilers

Lancer serves Kayneth during the Fourth Holy Grail War. Lancer is even-tempered, absolutely loyal to Kayneth, and defined by chivalry and honor. He and Saber develop mutual respect, and he wishes to fight her fairly. His true identity is Diarmuid Ua Duibhne, son of Donn, foster son of Aengus Óg, and a warrior of the Fianna. His contract is unusual because Kayneth holds the Command Spells while Sola-Ui supplies the magical energy sustaining him.
