Demon King
Biography
The Demon King is a gigantic black creature with glowing yellow eyes, wing-like shapes and a root-like body embedded in the earth. It appears after the dragons and rapidly grows stronger by feeding on human fear. Dragons and the Demon King are said to fear dragons' horns.
Story spoilers
Riko and Carmine defeat the Demon King with help from Sagara, using Carmine's horn against it. Riko is gravely injured in the ordeal and asks Carmine to protect the beautiful sky after she is gone. More than 200 years later, the Demon King and its demons begin appearing again, forcing Carmine to leave Rulishia and fight once more; the unfinished anime leaves what follows unclear.
