Dearka Elsman is a Coordinator and member of the Le Creuset team that attacks Heliopolis, becoming the pilot of the captured Buster Gundam. Like Yzak Joule, he is the son of a PLANT Supreme Council member, but tends to express his arrogance through detached sarcasm rather than hot-headed aggression.

In Gundam SEED Destiny, after defecting to the Archangel during the war, Dearka is eventually reinstated in ZAFT but demoted for his disobedience. He later supports Yzak as a member of the Joule Team.
