Character profile
Daijin
ダイジンBiography
Daijin is a mysterious white cat who speaks human language and suddenly appears before Suzume.
Story spoilers
Daijin appears where doors open and plays tricks on Suzume and her friends. In cat-statue form, Daijin was the western gatestone holding back worms from escaping open doors in abandoned places before Suzume unknowingly released it. Daijin turns Souta into a chair, naming him as the replacement western gatestone. Daijin becomes thinner and more ragged when rejected by Suzume and regains its normal appearance when treated with kindness.
