Story spoilers
Cryska is a genetically engineered psychic and survivor of the secret Alternative III program, originally created in an attempt to communicate with the BETA. She and Inia wear limiter hair clips; removing hers can send Cryska into a berserk state that endangers enemies and allies alike. The Soviet military also uses brainwashing and memory erasure when her loyalty begins to waver.
