Claude de Alger Obelia is the reigning emperor of the Empire of Obelia and the father of the protagonist of Who Made Me a Princess. He is initially characterized as ruthless and cruel.
Story spoilers
Within The Lovely Princess, Claude kills his biological daughter Athanasia. He gains the throne by usurping and murdering his older brother, Anastacius de Alger Obelia. His name is associated with his illegitimacy as heir, contrasting with the "immortal" meanings traditionally given to Obelian heirs' names.
Later in the story, Claude displays a warmer, more affectionate side.
