In the manga BLAME!, Cibo is the head scientist of the Electronic Corporation in the Capitol and joins Killy on his search for the Net Terminal Gene.
Story spoilers
After an attempt to access the Net Sphere with artificial Net Terminal Genes, Cibo is imprisoned when the resulting Safeguard destroys her laboratory. Killy first encounters her as a decaying torso sustained by machinery. She persuades him that her hacking skills can help his search, later acquires a human body, and leaves the Corporation to travel with him.
