In the anime, Chitose Karasuma is a sickly 17-year-old who joins the Galaxy Angels at her own request. Polished and affectionate on the surface, she is socially awkward and can become surprisingly bloodthirsty, with her attempts at friendship often undermined by tactlessness and apparent bad luck.
Story spoilers
After feeling rejected by the Angels, Chitose joins the rival Galaxy Twin-Stars and vows to destroy them, only to later be reassigned back and repeatedly swing between friendship and revenge. She ultimately rejoins the Angels, and by age 21 remains in the military as an accountant. In the manga, her background differs: she is found as an amnesiac survivor in an escape capsule and is later revealed to have been unknowingly controlled by Noa.
