Houjun Ri / 李芳准

Biography

Chichiri is a 24-year-old wandering monk and the oldest, wisest of the Suzaku warriors. Trained by Taiitsukun, he uses magical techniques and serves as the group's dependable adviser, shifting easily between lighthearted humor and grave seriousness.

Story spoilers

Chichiri's smiling face is actually a mask concealing a scarred face and a lost eye. The injury comes from a disastrous flood during a fight with his former best friend, a tragedy that also kills his family and fiancée. By the end of the series, Chichiri and Tasuki are the only Suzaku Celestial Warriors still alive in The Universe of the Four Gods.
