Charles de Guise
Biography
Charles de Guise is a French Jew and colonel in the French army who works with the Qing-Bang. Although familiar with Sonkaken, he favors conventional weapons such as guns and swords, and he envisions a prosperous Shanghai where Jewish people can take refuge.
Story spoilers
Liú Fēi-Yàn fatally wounds de Guise in a duel over responsibility for Erika. Kenshiro prolongs his life long enough for his friends to show him a glimpse of the prosperous Shanghai he hoped for, after which he dies believing they can realize that vision.
