Chalcedony Renierite

The military kills Chalce for fighting and associating with artificial soldiers. His theory holds that artificial soldiers can develop human emotions through education and implanted memories, and his own memories are placed in Agate and Chrome. A later-discovered diary reveals that "Agate" was originally the name of Chalce's private artificial soldier and first friend; when Chalce's father tried to destroy Agate, Chalce intervened and accidentally killed him.
