Character profile
Celine
セリーヌBiography
Celine begins as Lala's gift for Rito's sixteenth birthday: a giant, carnivorous, sentient sunflower kept in the Yuuki family's backyard. Despite her intimidating size, Rito treats Celine as family, and the plant behaves in surprisingly human ways while still needing water and sunlight.
Story spoilers
After Celine contracts a deadly disease, Rito and his friends retrieve an antidote, only to return and find her apparently dried up. She is actually germinating, and a single seed produces a new infant-girl form with a flower on her head. This form calls Rito “mama” and can release pollen that temporarily makes anyone who inhales it fall in love with him.
