Baymax is an inflatable computerized robot created by Tadashi Hamada as a personal healthcare companion and prototype nurse. His artificial intelligence comes from a special caregiving chip bearing Tadashi's inscriptions, and his programming responds to distress until a patient declares satisfaction with the care received.
Story spoilers
After Tadashi's death, Baymax is inherited by Hiro Hamada and becomes a member of the superhero team Big Hero 6.
