Biography
Asura is a being locked in a long-running conflict with Yuga the Destroyer, whose goal is to unite the world with the Netherworld. Yuga imprisons Asura in the Netherworld, but he escapes after Yuga's defeat and later confronts the fiend with help from his clone, Shadow Asura.
Story spoilers
Asura and Shadow Asura fuse so that the clone can survive. In Samurai Shodown: Warriors Rage, this Asura is revealed to be only a shade of the original, retaining the original's abilities and hatred of Yuga while the clone keeps the original memories.
